Tata Nexon Facelift-

What if we told you that the same platform that helped it earn a 5-star safety rating in both BNCAP and GNCAP will no longer be the same! Yes, you heard that right: the older Tata X1 platform has been carried forward into their modern cars as well, including the Nexon. And the report suggests that this platform is expected to undergo major structural changes. Don’t worry about safety; Tata, being Tata, would never compromise on the safety front. With possible platform modifications, Nexon is expected to become an even safer and more versatile modern SUV. What else does it have to offer?

Exteriors-

Since the first Nexon was launched, it has come a long way from its oval-egg-like shape to something sleeker than we see now. And with this new Nexon facelift, the design might get sleeker and more upright, to give it more boxy SUV characteristics, like other Tata SUVs. This new Nexon is expected to get design elements like a split headlamp, something we have seen on the Sierra recently. In addition, there might be cosmetic changes, such as refreshed taillamps, a different front grille design, and more.
Interiors-

Inside the cabin, too, the Nexon is expected to feature modern equipment such as a triple-screen layout, with a larger 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a fully digital driver’s display, and a dedicated screen for the co-passenger, as seen in the Sierra. The missing features, like dual-zone climate control and electronically adjustable front seats, could be added with this facelift. Driver assistance features like a 360-degree parking camera and ADAS Level-2 are expected to remain the same with the Nexon facelift too.

Powertrain-
One of the main reasons behind the Nexon’s sales is the variety of powertrain options it offers, and the Nexon facelift is expected to retain this, with some additions as well. The engine option includes 1.2-litre turbo petrol (118bhp & 170Nm), 1.2-litre turbo iCNG (99bhp & 170Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel (113bhp & 260Nm). All of these engines are offered with various gearbox options, including 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AT, and 7-speed DCT. However, the CNG variant is not being offered with the automatic transmission, which can be addressed with the facelift, as the Punch already offers this option. What if you wanted something more eco-friendly? Then Nexon got you covered on that front as well. You also have the option to choose between two Nexon.ev variants: the medium-range and long-range, 30 kWh and 45 kWh battery packs. These variants offer the claimed range of 325km and 489km, respectively.
Rivals-
When it comes to rivals, the closest rival to the Nexon is the Maruti Brezza, which will also get a facelift soon. The other rivals include the Mahindra 3XO, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and Skoda Kylaq.
Expected Lanch & Pricing-
While the official dates for this facelift are yet to be announced, we can expect it by late 2026 or early 2027. The current generation of Nexon is priced between Rs 8.60 lakh and Rs 16.98 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). With all the new additions and considering the competition, the price might be a bit of a hike. After the hike, the Nexon Facelift is expected to be priced somewhere between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 18 lakh (on-road Mumbai). Nexon.ev is priced slightly higher, between Rs 13.22 lakh and Rs 18.50 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), with a premium of Rs 50,000 to Rs 80,000. What do you think about these new expected updates to the Nexon?
