Maruti Baleno Facelift Confirmed!

The Baleno has shown that there is still a market for a premium hatchback. And now, our sources suggest that it is set to receive a facelift very soon. We could see this facelift as soon as in the next 2 months. We have also received information about the updates Maruti will bring to the Baleno.
The Baleno is one of the most feature-packed cars in the market. It is loaded with features, and many compact SUVs struggle to compete with the Baleno. And when you consider that you get features like a heads-up display and a 360-degree camera on a car that costs less than Rs 11 lakh and delivers 22+ kmpl, it is easy to understand why it is so successful. And now, Maruti will be adding a few more features to the Baleno.

More Features!

With the facelift, the Baleno is confirmed to get two new additions – a wireless charger and an electric sunroof. These two amenities have become a must-have lately. We also expect it to get a bigger infotainment screen. The outgoing model gets features such as electrically adjustable ORVMs, push-button start, heads-up display, a 360-degree camera, cruise control, a 9-inch infotainment screen, and much more.
Its rival, the i20, has a few advantages over the outgoing Baleno: it gets an electric sunroof and a wireless charger. But this advantage will soon vanish with the facelift. With the Baleno facelift, you would get more features for almost Rs 1.5 lakh less. Not to mention, you get Maruti’s convenient after-sales service and unmatched fuel efficiency. The signs look very promising at the moment.

Maruti Baleno Facelift – What Else?

The aesthetics won’t be tweaked much. Nothing more than a revised front grille and an updated rear bumper are expected with the facelift. This update will focus more on the equipment list rather than the exterior.
The outgoing model is offered with a fuel-efficient 1.2-litre NA petrol engine (88 bhp & 113 Nm) mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. It will also continue to offer a CNG alternative. While initial rumours suggested that the Baleno would get a strong-hybrid powertrain and an underbody CNG with the next update, neither is expected yet. However, the next-generation Baleno may offer these options.

Pricing

The outgoing model costs between Rs 7.03 lakh and Rs 10.57 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The prices of the lower variants would remain unaffected, but the top variant, Zeta, could increase by around Rs 15,000. But knowing Maruti, it would try to keep the pricing as competitive as possible. Guess we would have to wait 2 months to know for sure.
