Honda City Facelift Launching Next Month!

Honda City is India’s longest-running sedan nameplate, first introduced in 1998. Now in its fifth generation, the City is set to receive its second facelift, with Honda officially confirming a May 22, 2026, launch alongside the premium Honda ZR-V hybrid SUV.
The current fifth-gen City has been on sale since 2020 and received its first facelift in 2023. This 2026 update is a mid-life refresh aimed at keeping the sedan competitive. It may also draw design inspiration from the sportier Civic, giving it a sharper, more modern look. In a segment where rivals like the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Slavia have stepped up with more features and tech, Honda is expected to respond with meaningful updates.

Inside, bigger updates are expected, including ventilated seats, a powered driver’s seat, a 360-degree camera, and a larger, improved infotainment system with better connectivity. Honda City Facelift – Engine And Powertrain

The 2026 City facelift will continue with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated iVTEC petrol engine, producing 119 bhp and 145 Nm of torque. It will be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic, giving buyers the flexibility to pick what suits them. This engine is well-known for being smooth, responsive, and easy to live with in city traffic.
The popular e: HEV hybrid variant will also continue. It uses a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine paired with two electric motors, delivering a combined system output of around 124 bhp and 253 nm torque.
