2 New Honda Launches!

Honda has announced it will launch 2 new cars on May 22. Launching 2 cars in one day comes as a surprise, given that it has been inactive in the market for some time. Honda kept the names of the models under wraps until now. But industry sources have revealed the names – ZRV and City facelift.

The ZR-V is a premium SUV that will be launched via the CBU route. On the other hand, the City will get a much-needed update. Sales for the City have been pretty low, and Honda is trying to revive them with the facelift. The facelift would be Honda’s attempt to overtake the segment leader, the Virtus.

2 New Honda Launches – Honda ZRV

The ZRV will be the second SUV in its lineup. It is a 5-seater, 4.56m-long SUV and has no direct competitor. It is more of an exercise by Honda to diversify its portfolio. It has a rather elegant, smooth design language that will be appreciated by many. On the inside, the ZRV looks practical and ergonomically friendly, like most Honda models. The global-spec model comes with features such as an ADAS suite, a 9-inch infotainment screen, a 10.2-inch fully digital driver’s display, a powered tailgate, powered front seats, and a panoramic glass roof.
It could get a 2.0-litre petrol-hybrid powertrain mated to an AWD drivetrain. This powertrain produces a decent 182 bhp and 315 Nm and takes the ZR-V 0 to 100km/h in less than 8 seconds. And with such performance, you will also be credited with healthy mileage figures. We expect it to be priced between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 50 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), which would put it in the same territory as the Kodiaq, Fortuner and Tayron R-line.

2 New Honda Launches – Honda City

Some time ago, we revealed that the City would get a facelift soon, and it is almost here. With the facelift, it is expected to get sporty design cues to mimic the popular Civic. Moreover, the feature list would get a big update – Level-1 ADAS (Honda Sensing suite) as standard. Moreover, a 360-degree camera will be added to the equipment list. These changes are expected for both the ICE and HEV variants. These features are expected to hike up its price by around Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000.
Powertrain options would include the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine (120 bhp & 145 Nm) mated to either a 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. It is also expected to get the same HEV alternative.
