The Sorento is Kia’s premium, fully-loaded seven-seater SUV that has been spotted testing on Indian roads. which means it’s coming sooner than you think. The India-spec Sorento is expected to come with a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol-hybrid engine, with a total system output of approximately 238 hp (178 bhp from the engine + 65 bhp from the electric motor). Based on the global model features, expect a dual 12.3-inch panoramic display, a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS with 20+ safety features, a 360-degree camera, ventilated and powered front seats, a head-up display, 19-inch alloy wheels, and Kia’s connected-car technology with OTA updates. Three rows of seating, with power-folding second and third rows, are likely, too.

Expected Price: Industry estimates suggest a starting price of around Rs 38-46 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), with launch expected around the festive season in late 2026.

2. Kia Seltos Hybrid

The newly launched second-gen Seltos (2026) is already a strong product, but one thing many buyers feel is missing is a hybrid powertrain. Globally, the Seltos is sold with a hybrid option. Given that Indian buyers now prefer hybrid SUVs like the Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder, Kia would be foolish not to bring it here.

The automaker is expected to offer the locally manufactured 1.5-litre petrol hybrid engine producing 155 bhp & 265 Nm of torque. Alongside this, current engine options are also expected to continue featuring the 1.5-litre turbo petrol (158bhp & 253Nm), 1.5-litre NA petrol (113bhp & 144Nm), and 1.5-litre diesel (114bhp & 250Nm).

The hybrid Seltos can be priced somewhere between Rs 19 lakh and Rs 25.50 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

3. Kia Sonet CNG – New Kia Launches

The Sonet facelift is already on sale and looks striking. But this Kia has been caught testing a CNG variant of the Sonet on public roads, and the spy shots suggest it might not be using the usual 1.2-litre engine either. Rumours and spy reports suggest the Sonet CNG could be powered by the same 1.0-litre T-GDi turbocharged petrol engine (de-tuned for CNG), which currently makes 120 bhp and 172 Nm in its petrol form. If true, this would make it the first CNG SUV in its segment with a turbocharged engine, and a 6-speed manual gearbox is expected.

It is expected to retain most of the standard Sonet’s features, including dual 10.25-inch screens, a Bose sound system, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, and the bold Tiger Nose grille design. The CNG tank placement might slightly impact boot space, but Kia is expected to manage it well. The CNG variant is likely to be priced between Rs 9.5 lakh and Rs 17 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai). A December 2026 launch window is what most sources are pointing to.

The Syros EV will become Kia’s second locally produced electric vehicle, and it’s shaping up to be a serious rival to the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV. The Syros EV is expected to offer two battery options: a 42 kWh pack with around 390 km of range, and a larger 51.4 kWh pack with up to 473 km of range. Fast charging from 10% to 80% is expected to take around 58 minutes. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging support may also be on the cards, making it a practical choice for outdoor use.

Based on the already feature-loaded ICE Syros, the EV version is expected to carry over the triple-screen setup, Level 2 ADAS, Harman Kardon 8-speaker audio, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, ventilated front and rear seats, and 80+ connected-car features. Expect EV-specific touches, such as a closed grille and new alloy wheels. The starting expected price is around Rs 14 -16 lakh(on-road, Mumbai); the Syros EV could become one of the most value-packed electric SUVs in India. Given that the ICE Syros already achieved a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, the EV version is likely to carry the same safety credentials.

The Carens Clavis MPV has been widely praised since its launch in 2025. It’s spacious, premium-feeling, and packed with features. But the one thing many buyers have pointed out as a gap? No CNG option. That gap may soon be filled. Kia plans to introduce a CNG powertrain for its Carens lineup. The CNG version is expected to use the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (115 bhp, 144 Nm), paired with a factory-fitted CNG kit and a 6-speed manual transmission.

The Clavis CNG is likely to be available on mid-spec trims, featuring a dual 12.3-inch display, a panoramic sunroof, a 6-airbag safety setup, and connected-car tech. The existing Clavis already supports Level 2 ADAS and OTA updates. A Clavis CNG is expected to be priced around Rs 1-1.5 lakh above the equivalent petrol variant. No confirmed launch date yet, but given Kia’s intent and the growing CNG demand in India, 2026-27 seems like a realistic window.
