Tata Tiago Facelift Launch Confirmed

The Tiago is the entry-level Tata car and sees decent sales thanks to the features it offers at that price point. And to boost its sales even further, Tata is all set to launch the Tiago facelift on the 28th of May. Ahead of its launch, the Tiago facelift has been spotted testing on Indian roads.

Due to the camouflage, it can be difficult to spot whether it is an EV or the ICE version. The front-end has been concealed, making this task tougher. But after a closer look, we can spot the exhaust pipe. The overall silhouette of the car remains the same, with the traditional hatchback stance, but it now has sharper headlights and newer alloys. Furthermore, in some previous spy shots, we could also spot a connected taillight. These tweaks freshen up the Tiago’s aesthetics and align it with other Tata models.

Tata Tiago Facelift – What To Expect?

Apart from the aesthetic tweaks, we expect it to get some additions in the feature list as well. It could borrow a couple of features from the Punch spare bin. The outgoing model is packed with modern features such as a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, cruise control, TPMS, reverse parking camera, cooled glovebox, electrically adjustable ORVMs, automatic climate control, and rain-sensing wipers. We could see features like a fully digital driver’s display and a 360-degree camera being added. Tata could now also offer more features on lower variants.
The engine bay will remain untouched as the same 1.2-litre NA petrol is expected. The 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT will continue to be offered with the facelift. Moreover, it would also get the dual-cylinder CNG layout.
The Tiago is a great value-for-money option if you are in the market for a car under Rs 9 lakh. That is why Tata would refrain from hiking up its price much. We expect a hike of around Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 over the current Rs 5.45 lakh to Rs 8.99 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Tata Tiago Facelift – What About The EV?

Tata usually unveils the ICE version before the EV version (as with the Punch and Harrier). This means that Tata will likely showcase only the combustion-powered Tiago on the 28th May, with the EV following in the next few months. The EV will recieve similiar aesthetic and feature updates as the petrol model and could get a bigger 30kWh battery pack option over the outgoing Tiago.ev.
