Renault Bridger – What’s New?

Recently, Industry sources have reported that Renault is working on a new powertrain that will likely be used in the upcoming mini Duster. It is a 1.2-litre hybrid engine, which, unlike the 4-cylinder unit, will be a 3-cylinder unit running on the Miller cycle. For starters, a Miller cycle engine focuses more on efficiency.

With this new engine, Renault is targeting a high mileage figure. Moreover, it can even adopt the high-efficiency demonstrator tech showcased recently at the Vienna Motor Symposium. It was fitted to the Dacia Duster and claimed an efficiency of nearly 30 kmpl. Now, if the Renault Bridger gets this powertrain, then we can expect such high fuel efficiency from the SUV. Moreover, the 1.2-litre engine will and help the model qualify for the lower 18 percent GST bracket for compact cars.
