Nissan Tekton – Patrol-inspired Design

At first sight, the Nissan Tekton looks inspired by the Nissan Patrol, thanks to its imposing front grille, connected LED DRLs, and C-shaped LED headlights. What adds to the front look is the ‘TEKTON’ badging above the grille on the hood. It features a prevalent SUV silhouette and elements like roof rails and chunky wheel arches makes it look rugged. The Tekton sits on 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The rear is highlighted by C-shaped LED taillights and a chunky silver skid plate for a sportier look. With the Patrol-inspired looks, we expect the SUV to offer a commanding road presence.

Interior And Features

Although Nissan has yet to reveal how the Tekton looks from the inside. However, it has given a sneak peek that confirms the dashboard has gloss-black trim with copper highlights. Although there might be some similarities inside with the Renault Duster, Nissan will likely differentiate the Tekton with a more premium interior and different colour themes.
The Tekton is expected to come with features such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, auto AC with rear AC vents, and ventilated front seats. Its equipment list will also include 6 airbags and electronic stability control.

Nissan Tekton – First Nissan SUV To Come With ADAS

One of the most notable highlights is that the Tekton will likely be the first ever offering from Nissan in India to come with a complete suite of level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Its ADAS kit will include features like lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking and more.
Not to forget that the Tekton uses the same Renault Global Modular Platform (RGMP) platform which underpins the new Renault Duster, which has already got an impressive 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP. We expect the Nissan Tekton to also prove its mettle in safety tests.

Same Powertrain Options As The Duster

The Tekton will most likely share its powertrain option with the new Renault Duster, which includes 1-litre turbo petrol (102bhp/160Nm), a 1.3-litre turbo petrol (160bhp/280Nm) and a 1.8-litre petrol hybrid engine (163bhp/172Nm). Additionally, Nissan could also offer the Tekton with the option of a CNG powertrain, not as a factory-made unit. The top variants could get an optional AWD (all-wheel-drive) drivetrain.
