At the Auto Expo 2025, Suzuki showcased its first-ever flex fuel motorcycle, the Gixxer SF 250. Priced at Rs 2.36 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), this is currently the only bike you can buy that is compatible with E85 fuel (85% Ethanol, 15% Petrol). This is a great option for those who want a bike that is ready for the future and can run on an alternate fuel like Ethanol. Apart from this flexibility, the Gixxer SF offers a great deal of features, like turn-by-turn navigation, app-connected features, dual-channel ABS, and all-LED lighting and much more. Powering the Gixxer SF is a 249cc engine producing 26.13bhp and 22.2Nm of torque along with a 6-speed gearbox. This is a great option if you want a bike that can work well with varying ethanol-infused fuel.

2. Yamaha FZ Flex Fuel

Yamaha just launched its first-ever bike that can run on 100% ethanol, the Factor. While this was launched in Brazil, it looked like a mix of the new FZ and the older S-ZR, both sold in India. As we mentioned, the Factor is E100 fuel compatible and can run on pure Ethanol. We could expect Yamaha to bring this bike to India, following the push towards alternative fuels. The best part is that the bike can run effortlessly on pure petrol, blended fuel, or pure ethanol, allowing for better use cases. If Yamaha decides to bring the Factor to India, we expect it to be offered under the FZ lineup. We believe it uses the same 149cc engine as the FZ, and we can expect the E100 version to use the same. Yamaha could launch the flex fuel version with the same aesthetics and features of the India-spec model.

One of the most unexpected bikes on this list is the Classic 350. A test mule of the Classic 350 was spotted testing in Chennai, and the key highlight was a sticker on the tank that read “E85”. In a market dominated by commuters and scooters, the Classic 350 is one of the most popular brands in India, and we believe that Royal Enfield is simply working with the times. This move from Royal Enfield is quite impressive and will allow its loyal buyers to adapt to alternative fuels while retaining the Classic silhouette and the RE thump. The brand had showcased its Classic 350 flex fuel at the Auto Expo 2024. And we believe that we will get to see a production-ready version of this Classic 350 by next year.
