Maruti Fronx Hybrid – What To Expect?
The Fronx is the entry-level SUV in the Maruti hierarchy, and now it is going to get its biggest update ever – a hybrid. Maruti Suzuki has been working on its in-house series hybrid technology, so it isn’t completely reliant on Toyota for this tech. With its new series hybrid, Maruti aims to make hybrids more accessible than ever. The Maruti Victoris is already the cheapest strong hybrid in the country, and Maruti will now make sure hybrids get even cheaper.
With the hybrid, the Fronx will carry over the same design language as the outgoing model. Other than the occasional hybrid badging and aero wheels, it may be difficult to distinguish it from the non-hybrid variants. Its looks play a vital part in its sales, and Maruti won’t mess about with that recipe much.

Features
With the hybrid, we could see a couple of new features over the standard version. These inclusions could include a larger infotainment screen, a digital driver’s display, a sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a powered driver’s seat. Furthermore, Fronx hybrid test mules have been spotted with LiDAR sensors, suggesting that the Fronx could finally get ADAS. Features like electrically adjustable ORVMs, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, and rear AC vents will continue to be on offer.

Maruti Fronx Hybrid – Powertrain
The engine details are yet to be revealed, but we expect the hybrid system to be mated to a 1.2-litre NA petrol. This configuration would mean that the fuel efficiency would be impressive. It won’t be surprising to see Maruti claim a 25+ kmpl mileage with the hybrid. You would save plenty on fuel costs, and with rising fuel prices, the hybrid seems more important than ever.

Rivals
Currently, there are no hybrid sub-4m SUVs. The Fronx is expected to bring a hybrid to this segment for the first time. But in the future, the competition would rise with the Sonet, XUV3XO and Venue hybrid.
Maruti Fronx Hybrid – Expected Pricing & Launch
The Fronx would make hybrids more accessible than ever. We expect it to be priced in the range of Rs 10-15 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Maruti will introduce series-hybrid technology across some of its other models, like the Swift, Brezza, and Baleno.
Rumours suggest that we could see the Fronx hybrid being launched in the early months of 2027. So if you are looking for a car with astounding fuel economy, the Fronx hybrid is definitely worth waiting for.
