Upcoming MG 7-Seater – What’s New?
JSW MG will launch a new MPV based on the Wuling Darion in India. One of its key highlights is the space: the Darion measures 4.9m in length, making it a really long car. Apart from that, it also features sliding doors, just like the Kia Carnival. However, it is expected to be launched at the Toyota Innova’s price point. That said, under Rs 50 lakh, one can get a premium 7-seater model.
Now, as the Darion-based MPV is expected to have identical dimensions, it is likely to undermine one of the reasons that makes Innova the best choice for buyers: space.

Interior Details
The MG’s upcoming Darion-based SUV is expected to include the feature list from the international model. Features on that model include a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.8-inch driver’s display, wireless charging, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, powered and ventilated front and second-row seats, and more.

Powertrain Details
The Wuling Darion is already on sale in the International markets. The model comes with a plug-in hybrid setup and in electric avatar. As MG is also focused on introducing PHEV and EV powertrains in India, we expect the Darion-based MPV to equip the powertrain from the international model. The PHEV setup comes with a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine with a 20.5kWh battery pack. While the EV version comes with a 69.2kWh battery pack, which has a claimed range of 520km.

Launch & Pricing
While the exact details of the upcoming MG MPV have not been revealed, we expect the model to launch by mid-2027. That said, we believe that MG might price it aggressively to cater to more sales, and it could be priced between Rs 35 lakh to Rs 45 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
