New Maruti 7-Seater!

Still wondering which Maruti 7-seater this could be? Well, this MPV is neither a facelift nor a new generation of the existing Maruti MPVs. The brand is working on an all-new 7-seater codenamed YMC, and it will most likely be an EV. We believe that this test mule is of the YMC. That’s right! We believe that the YMC’s production model will go up against the likes of the Carens Clavis EV. The test mule of the YMC was spotted, revealing that the brand is working on something new. While the spy shots do not give away many details, we do have an idea of what’s expected! So, let’s discuss!

What We Know So Far!

From the spy shots, it looks like this particular 7-seater is sitting on similar wheels to the e Vitara. Now, that’s not surprising considering the YMC will be underpinned by the same platform as the e Vitara, the Heartect-e. We can expect the Maruti YMC to be around 4.6 meters in length, providing a roomy and comfortable interior. The test mule, even though heavily camouflaged, gave us a glimpse of the headlights of the SUV, which looked quite similar to the ones on the Victoris.
However, the front bumper and grille have a more unique design. The taillights of the test mule slightly resemble those of the Grand Vitara. Even though the YMC concept was more like an MPV, this test mule has a more SUV-like stance with a rugged and sturdy design. That aside, due to the hefty camouflage, no other design details are evident, and we will have to wait to see more details regarding the same. So, what else can we expect to see from this upcoming Maruti 7-seater?

New Maruti 7-Seater – What To Expect?

As we this 7-seater will share its platform with the e Vitara, we can expect Maruti to offer similar features. Expected features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a fully digital instrument cluster, a panoramic glass roof, powered and ventilated front seats, and much more. Maruti could offer captain seats in the second row with ventilated seats, as seen on the XL6.
Along with the platform, we could expect to see the same battery pack options in the 7-seater – a 49kWh battery pack (142bhp, 193Nm & 440km range) and a 61kWh battery pack (172bhp, 193Nm & 543km range). Maruti, being Maruti, would likely price this 7-seater aggressively, especially with a BaaS scheme. We can expect the YMC to carry a price tag ranging from Rs 17.50 lakh to Rs 22 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
So, would you wait for this upcoming 7-seater?
