Upcoming Toyota SUVs – Toyota Land Cruiser FJ

Toyota has already launched the most affordable Land Cruiser in Thailand and Japan. The model is expected to reach the Indian shores by 2028. Toyota will produce this SUV in India, which will help keep costs in check. We expect it to be priced between Rs 40 and Rs 55 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
The Land Cruiser FJ offers a slew of features in the international spec model. It includes 7 airbags, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, and more. The model is powered by a 2.7-litre petrol engine globally. For India, we expect the SUV to get the same list of features and powertrain, and there’s also a possibility of a new hybrid system.

Toyota Ebella

Toyota’s electric SUV, Ebella, is expected to launch by the end of this year. Toyota’s electric model will be the rebadged version of the Maruti e-Vitara. That said, we expect the model to be priced between Rs 17 lakh and Rs 23 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The model will also be made available with a Battery-As-A-Service (BaaS) option that will help keep the final cost low.
As the SUV is based on the Maruti e-Vitara, the cabin layout of the Toyota SUV is similar to its Maruti sibling. Some of the features include a twin-screen setup, a Level 2 ADAS suite, 7 airbags standard, a 360-degree camera, JBL premium audio system, a wireless charging pad, a sunroof, powered & ventilated front seats, sliding and reclining rear seats, and more. Regarding powertrain, the Toyota SUV gets two battery pack options – a 49kWh and a 61kWh.

Upcoming Toyota SUVs – Toyota Land Cruiser Prado

We had already revealed that Toyota is planning to launch the Prado in India. The model will be positioned above the Toyota Fortuner, with prices ranging between Rs 70 lakh to Rs 1 crore (on-road, Mumbai).
Talking about features, this upcoming Toyota SUV comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a sunroof, Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated and powered front seats, a wireless Charger, a JBL audio system, and more. The powertrain details for the India-bound model are currently under wraps, but we expect it to come with a 2.8-litre diesel engine (201 bhp and 500 Nm). Toyota could also plan to offer a hybrid powertrain with this model in the future.
Toyota Fortuner Facelift

From some time, many reports indicate that the Fortuner will be getting an update. However, it is expected to be a small update, and not a complete refresh. The model has already received a 48V hybrid system, but in the future, the Fortuner could eventually get a strong hybrid option; however, that’s just a guess.
With this update, we could see the addition of new features. Some features include, level 2 ADAS, a bigger infotainment unit, and there’s also a possibility that the new model could feature a new steering wheel from the Prado. Apart from the introduction of new features, the model is expected to see changes on the exterior. We expect it to feature a new look like the new-gen Toyota Hilux revealed globally. It features a new honeycomb grille, with a new lighting setup and other cosmetic enhancements.

Toyota Innova Hycross Lower Variant

Toyota has already announced that it will discontinue the Innova Crysta from its lineup. However, that will make the Hycross the only option in the Innova lineup. To fill the gap left by Crysta, Toyota is working on a more affordable version of the Innova Hycross.
While the details of the model are under wraps, we expect it to feature the 2.0-litre petrol engine without the hybrid setup and offer some basic features. Eventually, Toyota can also make it available to fleet operators. That said, with this new variant, the Hycross might see a price drop of around Rs 1 lakh (for the new variant).
