Suzuki posted a marginal YoY growth in domestic sales as well as exports in Apr 2026 as it continued to be India’s fifth largest two-wheeler brand
Suzuki Motorcycle India has begun the FY27 on a positive note by retailing more than 1.17 lakh units with a YoY growth of 4 percent in Apr 2026. The Japanese brand had sold nearly 1.13 lakh motorcycles in Apr 2025. In the domestic market in India, the sales volumes stood at 98,004 units in Apr 2026 against 95,214 units during the same month last year, resulting in a 3 percent YoY growth. The export business grew by 10 percent on a YoY basis from 17,734 units in Apr 2025 to 19,510 units in Apr 2026.
Commenting on the performance, Mr. Deepak Mutreja, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd., said, “We have started the new financial year on a steady note with growth across both domestic and exports markets. This performance reflects the continued trust customers place in our products. As we move ahead, we remain focussed on delivering quality products, while deepening our connect with customers and partners across markets. We are also enhancing customer experience through focused events and brand activations.”

Last but not the least, the spare parts sales recorded revenue of Rs 915.90 Million in Apr 2026 with a 14 percent YoY growth. Recently, the company celebrated 20 years of commencing production in India while stating that sales doubled over the last four years due to strong demand and product innovation. It also achieved the 10 million units production milestone.

Suzuki entered the Indian two‑wheeler market in 2006, with the launch of the Suzuki Heat 125 and Suzuki Zeus 125 in the motorcycle segment and subsequently strengthened its model lineup with the introduction of the Suzuki Access 125 scooter in 2007. The brand further revealed that it is ready for product expansion in electric mobility, flex‑fuel technology, and a new manufacturing plant at Kharkhoda.
Suzuki launched the 2026 Burgman Street in Apr 2026 at a starting price of Rs 1.02 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in the Indian market. The company also set multiple records for the largest gathering of a single scooter model at one location and the maximum delivery of a single scooter model in one day with Suzuki Burgman. Both the records were recognized by the India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records.

The Japanese two-wheeler company hosted the flagship motorcycling festival Suzuki Matsuri in Mumbai, where the Burgman Street 400 made its first public appearance in India. It has been learnt that Suzuki is gauging customer response before making any decision to officially launch the scooter in the Indian market. Presently, Suzuki Burgman 400 is sold in developed markets such as the US and Europe.
