Delhi Government Car Ban!


The Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, has announced that the Delhi government will ban the purchase of new cars or bikes for the next 6 months. This means that the government will not purchase hybrid, petrol, diesel or CNG vehicles for itself.
It is important to note that this rule is only applicable to the government, and citizens won’t have to worry just yet. Currently, only 10-year-old diesel cars and 15-year-old petrol cars are prohibited in the state, and it is unlikely that the government will take such strict action on short notice for all cars. Apart from that, the Prime Minister, who has also urged citizens to reduce their fuel consumption and use public transport. Importantly, it hasn’t made such rules for its EV purchases.
