2 New Honda SUVs Confirmed!

Honda has officially revealed that it is working on two new SUVs: a compact SUV and a mid-size SUV. It has also confirmed that it will be launching these SUVs by 2028. These SUVs will be a key part of its plan to launch 10 new models by 2030. Honda may have revealed this launch, but it has kept its features & specifications a secret.
At the moment, Honda has only one SUV in its lineup, which is quite surprising in an SUV-dominant market. It will plan on changing that with the launches. The compact SUV will compete against the likes of the Venue, Nexon, XUV300, etc. On the other hand, the mid-size SUV could be a more premium SUV alternative to the Elevate.

2 New Honda SUVs – What Else?

The compact SUV could use the 1.2-litre NA petrol engine from the Amaze. Moreover, given that it is a Honda, it is very likely to bring hybrid technology to the larger mid-size SUV. It could use the 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid from the City hybrid. Lower variants could get the 1.5-litre NA petrol as standard. Gearbox options could include a 6-speed manual and a CVT.
Honda would need to equip both SUVs with features to remain competitive with the segment leaders. The feature list is one of the reasons the Elevate lags behind its rivals, and Japanese automakers could try to change that.
The compact SUV is expected to be priced around Rs 8 lakh and Rs 15 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), while the midsize SUV is estimated to cost around Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
