With rising fuel prices, ethanol blending is also increasing. Mileage has become a huge concern for new car buyers. While this is happening, Maruti has been dominating the Indian market with one of the most fuel-efficient budget cars. But what if we tell you there is another brand that uses the same hardware as Maruti and could introduce something even better? Haven’t you guessed it already? We are talking about Toyota and its much speculated Glanza Hybrid. Here is everything you need to know about Glanza Hybrid-

Toyota Glanza Hybrid-

Even after being rebadged as the Baleno, the Glanza only manages to sell half as many as the Baleno. This might not be due solely to the slightly higher price of the Glanza, which also includes an extended warranty. The real reason behind this could be that Maruti is often associated with higher fuel efficiency. This could be changed with the new updates to the Glanza. What changes could we expect?

Looks-
In terms of design, Glanza is expected to borrow some elements from the Baleno facelift itself. It could feature sharper LED headlamps, a revised front grille, and refreshed front and rear bumpers. The overall silhouette of the Glanza will remain unchanged. Toyota could introduce a hybrid-specific alloy wheel with a more aerodynamic design. What about the interiors?
Interiors & Features-

On the inside, the feature list could be largely the same as before, with a 9-inch infotainment screen, a heads-up display, a 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, connected-car tech, and much more. In addition, there could be options for wireless charging and an electric sunroof. We have yet to mention the biggest change in the Glanza update.
Powertrain-

The major change in the Glanza Hybrid will obviously be under the hood. The current generation of Glanza is being offered with the 1.2-litre NA petrol engine. This engine is available in two fuel types: one is petrol-only (88.5bhp & 113Nm), and the other is petrol+CNG (78bhp & 98.5Nm). Paired with a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox. The same fuel-efficient engine could be paired with strong hybrid technology, further increasing the powertrain’s fuel efficiency. With the hybrid, we can expect the 5-speed AMT gearbox.

Rivals-
Once launched, the Glanza Hybrid will compete against the same old rivals, including the Tata Altroz and the Hyundai i20. However, the major rival will be the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, as the same hardware could be offered there as well.
Expected Launch & Pricing-
The official launch date for the Glanza Hybrid remains under wraps, but given that the Baleno facelift will be launched by 2026, we can expect it to arrive sometime after that. The current generation of the Glanza is priced between Rs 7.49 lakh and Rs 11.30 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Pricing for the Glanza with hybrid tech and other updates is expected to increase by about Rs 80,000 to Rs 1 lakh. What do you think of this new update?
