Tata Sierra EV-

Tata reintroduced the Sierra last year, and immediately, it became the talk of the town. Whether it be the unique design or the new engine options it offers, the Sierra instantly caught the attention of Indian buyers. And with Tata, famous for offering multiple powertrain options in its cars, we knew the Sierra EV was already on the list of upcoming cars.

The unique, eye-catching design of the latest Sierra is expected to carry over to the upcoming Sierra EV. We can expect very few EV-specific changes, such as a sealed-off front grille and a minor refresh of the bumpers. Not just on the outside, the Sierra EV will also be identical to its ICE cousin on the inside as well. Featuring a 3-screen layout, a panoramic sunroof, electric powered front seats, ADAS Level-2+, a 360-degree camera and more.
The Tata Sierra EV is expected to feature battery pack options identical to those of the Harrier EV: 65 kWh or 75 kWh. What an interesting time to see whether Tata will offer an AWD powertrain option for the Sierra EV. This motor not only produces an impressive 390bhp but also offers a range of about 500km with the smaller battery packs and 600km with the larger battery packs. While the expected launch is by August 2026, Tata could price this between Rs 20 lakhs and Rs 28 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai).
Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift-

Even though Mahindra hasn’t made any official statement about the launch of the Scorpio N facelift, from the earlier sighting, we know it’s on the way. The Indian automaker will retain the silhouette of the current-generation Scorpio N, as seen in the spy shots. Changes are expected to the lighting setup and minor tweaks to the front grille and bumpers. Some major changes are evident in the SUV’s interior, including a floating 10.25-inch infotainment screen, a panoramic sunroof, redesigned AC vents, ventilated seats, and more.
Under the hood, the facelift is expected to remain the same as before, featuring a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine (200bhp & 380Nm) and a 2.2-litre diesel engine (172bhp & 400Nm). The gearbox options remain the same, featuring a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque-converter automatic. With the earlier sighting, we can expect the Scorpio N facelift to be here by August or September 2026. Priced between Rs 17 lakh and Rs 30 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
Kia Seltos Hybrid-

The Kia Seltos facelift was launched quite recently, and with that, the Seltos has received some considerable changes. But it’s missed something that has made its debut internationally, yes, the hybrid tech. The upcoming Selto hybrid will remain more or less identical to the facelift, inside and out. Featuring radical design on the outside and an interior features list including a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seat, dual-zone climate control, 64-colour ambient lighting, 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and much more.
The major change remains under the hood: the expected offering of a 1.5-litre petrol engine (155 bhp & 265 Nm) along with the hybrid technology. There is no official word on the launch of the Seltos Hybrid, but considering the international debut, we can expect the Seltos by the end of 2026. The Seltos hybrid could be priced somewhere between Rs 19 lakh and Rs 25.50 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
JSW Jaecoo J5-

The newest member of the Indian automotive industry does have some existing cars up its sleeve. Yes, JSW Motors will be introducing an SUV looking identical to the Range Rover in its upcoming launches over the next two years. Supporting this statement is the earlier sighting of the SUV’s test mule. From the spy shots, it appears to be identical to the international-spec J5, with no model-specific changes. It features a boxy silhouette, slim LED headlamps, and a front grille sealed off with Jaecoo badging, which would eventually be replaced by JSW badging.
Inside the cabin, the Global-spec Jaecco J5 features include a 13.2-inch infotainment screen, an 8-inch instrument cluster, ventilated seats, a powered tailgate, a sunroof, and much more. For additional driver assistance, it features a 540-degree camera and level-2 ADAS. That being said, we can expect similar features along with the Indian version as well. In the spy shot, we see aero wheels, indicating that the SUV will initially be introduced with the EV powertrain and later on the automaker will also offer hybrid powertrains. As JSW plans to make its first official launch by the festive season, we can expect the JSW Jaecoo J5 to be there by late 2026 as well. With the price tag somewhere between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
MG Starlight 560-

MG has been really looking forward to the launch of its premium EV lineup, with the Cyberster and MG 9. To extend this even further and offer a middle ground between ultimate luxury and performance, MG is considering bringing the Starlight 560-based 7-seater. The model will be a boxy, upright SUV that is also offered in the Chinese market. With the larger dimension, it does look more like an MPV than an SUV. In the MG Luxury segment, the cabin features Starlight, premium brown leather interiors, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and powered seats, a 12.8-inch infotainment system, a 360-degree camera, ADAS level-2 and much more.
Interestingly, MG is expected to bring the Starlight-based model with two powertrain options: a PHEV and an EV. The PHEV is expected to feature a 1.5-litre engine paired with a 20.5kWh battery pack(197bhp & 230Nm). On the flip side, the EV powertrain is expected to feature a 56.7 kWh battery pack. Offering about 500km of range. Based on test mule sightings, we can expect this SUV to launch by August 2026. Even when offered through the premium MG select dealership network, the prices of the Starlight 560 are expected to be on the affordable side, ranging from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 32 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
