Toyota Land Cruiser FJ Launched!

Toyota has launched the Land Cruiser FJ in Japan at the price of 4,500,100 Yen, which translates to around Rs 27.2 lakh. And if you opt for one of the accessory packages, it could cost you up to 7,154,890 Yen, roughly Rs 43.28 lakh. And in the Japanese market, you can get an LC300 for a similiar cost. But what about its India launch?

The FJ Cruiser is set for launch in 2028. And looking at its pricing in global markets, we can also make an educated guess on its Indian pricing. We expect it to cost around Rs 40 lakh and Rs 50 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). When launched in Thailand, it was priced quite close to the Fortuner, which means it would be a similiar case in India.

Land Cruiser FJ Price Revealed – Features & Specification

It is a 4.56m-long 5-seater SUV, and will sit between the Hyrdyer and the Fortuner in its SUV lineup. The market loves a boxy SUV, and the FJ is exactly that.

On the inside, the global spec is offered with features like –

• 7 airbags
• Level-2 ADAS
• 360-degree camera
• 7-inch digital driver’s display
• 12.3-inch infotainment screen
• dual-zone climate control 

As for the powertrain, the global-spec model is offered with the 2.7-litre NA petrol (164 bhp & 245 Nm). Power is sent to all 4 wheels via its 6-speed AT transmission. It is quite disappointing that the FJ misses out on the iconic 2.8-litre diesel engine. However, speculation suggests that the Indian-spec could offer a strong hybrid and a diesel powertrain if the market demands it.
