Renault India is up for the competition! They are fully fledged for a comeback in India, with a few vehicles planned for the Indian market. Renault Bigster – New 7-Seater SUV!


The globally available Dacia Boreal could come to India in Renault’s ‘Bigster’ avatar. While it shares the CMF-B platform, The Bigster isn’t an extended duster. The vehicle is designed to be more commanding and have a road presence. The vehicle can be expected in a proper 4WD setup for our market. Expect a length of 4.6 metres, as we see in the global version, nearly 300mm longer than the Duster. Height would be around 1.71 metres, giving the SUV a big stance. Regarding ground clearance, a massive 220mm is expected, making it suitable for Indian conditions. Could get an 18 or 19-inch alloy wheels, along with thick starkle cladding.

Interior And Tech


The cabin would keep the vehicle a step ahead in its segment. Expected to get a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay.The vehicle could be offered in 6 and 7-seater configurations, with ventilated rear seats and a panoramic sunroof. The India-spec one could likely feature a sliding second row for even better third-row space. Level-2 ADAS could be expected as the Boreal. Thicker glass and improved insulation are expected to enhance aesthetics and create a quieter, more premium cabin feel. For a premium audio experience, top variants are speculated to feature the Arkamys 3D sound system. Also, Renault’s YouClip system will allow modular attachments like tablet holders, phone mounts, and portable lights in the cabin.

Renault Bigster – Powertrain


The Bigster could come with Duster’s powertrain options.

The 1.8L strong hybrid is the one to take hold! It could be the most fuel-efficient one from Renault’s side, tuned for full-load performance and good fuel efficiency with 7 passengers.

Pricing And Competition


With the Duster 2026 starting at around ₹12.42 Lakh on-road in Mumbai, the Bigster could be expected to start at around ₹14 Lakh. And for rivals, it could lock horns with the XUV7XO, Safari, and Alcazar. The vehicle is expected to be revealed in India by late 2026 with deliveries likely in 2027.

Renault Bigster – Verdict


If Renault gets its pricing right, this could shake up the segment just like the Duster did. With 4WD and all its premium features, it feels like a natural upgrade for Triber and older Duster owners who need space and a 7-seater experience for a comfortable family trip.
