1. Boxy Hyundai SUV – Upcoming Hyundai SUVs

Who doesn’t love boxy SUVs? SUVs and a boxy exterior have always been the perfect mix, and many such SUVs have been quite successful with this formula. And we believe that Hyundai is up to something similar. We came across a small boxy Hyundai electric SUV while it was undergoing testing. We say it is a Hyundai SUV because it has Ioniq-like design cues and Hyundai’s new 4-dot Morse code logo. What’s interesting is that this is an all-new SUV – Hyundai doesn’t make such an SUV for any market. We believe that Hyundai could try to take on the Punch EV. We can expect it to be priced around ₹12-15 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
It could get features like a twin 10.25-inch screen setup, ventilated front seats, a powered driver seat, an ADAS suite, a sunroof, automatic climate control, and much more. Powertrain-wise, Hyundai could offer the same two battery pack options as the Inster, considering the Inster and Tata Punch have similar dimensions. So, this new Hyundai SUV could feature a 42kWh and a 49kWh battery pack. However, there is a possibility that Hyundai could offer smaller battery packs. That said, this will be quite an interesting launch from Hyundai, and if priced right, it could have the upper hand. We expect this SUV to be launched by the end of this year or early next year.

2. New-Gen Hyundai Creta

The Creta has been the bread-winner for Hyundai and has consistently been its best-selling SUV. It is packed with features, offers impressive performance and a premium, comfortable cabin. However, the Creta has fallen back when it comes to safety in comparison with its rivals. Hyundai will likely launch the new-gen Creta by next year, with new features, better safety tech and a hybrid powertrain. Like the new Seltos, the Creta will likely get the K3 platform, which is built with safety in mind.
The new Seltos is now the safest ICE car, and we believe the Creta could reach that level, too. With the new-gen, we can also expect to see features like Level 2+ ADAS, a larger touchscreen setup, a rear ventilated seat base, and a lot more. Hyundai could offer a hybrid powertrain for improved mileage, which is what many Indian buyers seek. It will likely continue to offer a 1.5-litre NA petrol, 1.5-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. We can expect the new-gen to carry a price tag ranging from ₹13 lakh to ₹27 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
3. Hyundai Bayon – Upcoming Hyundai SUVs

Maruti has gained quite a bit of success with its crossover SUV, the Fronx. And Hyundai looks like it wants a piece of this cake. So, Hyundai will likely bring in a new Fronx rival, the Bayon, at an attractive price point. While the global version of the Bayon is slightly longer than 4m, we believe Hyundai will bring it under the sub-4-meter category to make the best out of the GST 2.0 reforms.
We can expect to see features like a twin 12.3-inch screen setup, a sunroof, an ADAS suite, powered and ventilated front seats and much more. Reports suggest that Hyundai will use an all-new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol with the Bayon. This engine will be a powerful unit, and an upgrade over the 1.0-litre turbo used in the Venue and i20 N-line. It will likely get a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT. Hyundai could offer the Bayon with a price tag ranging from ₹8 lakh to ₹17 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). We expect the SUV to be launched by the festive season of 2026.

4. Hyundai Palisade

Hyundai has been quite active in the lower segments – updating the Exter, introducing the new Venue and introducing new editions of the Creta. However, Hyundai may soon look into the bigger SUV segment to take on one of India’s most popular SUVs, the Fortuner. And Hyundai has a great SUV to contend with – the Palisade. The Palisade is a full-size SUV with a premium cabin, great performance, a plethora of features and tech. The Korean brand could offer features like Level 2+ ADAS, ventilated rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, a twin 12.3-inch touchscreen, powered and ventilated front seats, and the list goes on.
While the international-spec Palisade has a 3.5-litre V6, we believe that the India-bound version would likely get the 2.5-litre hybrid powertrain, which offers an incredible driving range of 1000km. The introductory price is expected to start at ₹50 lakh, and the top-end variant could easily touch ₹60 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Hyundai may launch the SUV in 2027.
5. Hyundai Tucson – Upcoming Hyundai SUVs

Recently, a new SUV was spotted in Korea, undergoing testing. While it was heavily camouflaged, a few design elements like the headlights, wheels, and DRLs hinted towards a new-gen Tucson. Well, it will be interesting to see whether the SUV actually comes to India, considering the existing Tucson was discontinued last year. Nevertheless, we believe Hyundai may bring the Tucson to India to fill a gap between the Creta and the upcoming Palisade. The test mule spotted in Korea sported a tall, boxy design, giving it a commanding road presence.
The new-gen Tucson could get features like a twin 12.3-inch screen setup, Level 2+ ADAS, powered and ventilated front seats and much more. With the Tucson, Hyundai could offer a new hybrid powertrain along with a 2.0-litre petrol engine. The hybrid will allow for better fuel economy and driving range. We can expect it to be priced anywhere between ₹35 lakh and ₹ 42 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Hyundai could launch the SUV by early next year.
So, which of these Hyundai SUVs are you looking forward to?
