Toyota Fortuner Facelift 2026-

The Toyota Fortuner received its last major update back in 2021 and has since received only minor updates. It’s been a long time, and the full-size SUV market in India has been evolving, with new contenders including the recently launched MG Majestor and newcomers like the VW Tayron. All of these SUVs are modern and come equipped with a whole lot of advanced technologies. And to keep up with this competition, the Fortuner will also get a much-needed update in India. The new Fortuner will share most of its equipment with the latest Hilux. That being said, here are some changes that we expected with the upcoming Fortuner-

Exteriors- Fortuner Facelift
Fortuner is one of the most aspired SUVs in the country right now. The main reason is the unmatched road presence it offers. And it’s expected to remain unchanged with the upcoming facelift. The Fortuner’s bold design can get a modern touch, featuring a new honeycomb-patterned front grille, sleeker LED lighting, a new bumper, and a new bonnet design to complement the modern front end. On the side, we expected it to feature chunky cladding to add more character to the SUV. To the rear, it might feature the redesigned rear light taillamp.
Interiors-

Inside the cabin, the new Fortuner will no longer feature the same outdated interiors. It might come equipped with a 12.3-inch dual-screen setup, wireless connectivity, 8-way power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone climate control, and much more. For driver assist, it will feature the 360-degree camera and Level-2 ADAS. Also, it could feature a newer steering wheel from flagship models, such as the Land Cruiser Prado.
Powertrain-

The current powertrain options feature the 2.8-litre diesel engine (201bhp & 500Nm) and the 2.7-litre petrol engine (164bhp & 254Nm), which are expected to carry over to the new Fortuner as well. Also, the ongoing 48V mild hybrid technology will be carried forward with an update. Here, only the diesel engines are being offered with the 4×4 configuration. The gearbox option can include the same 6-speed manual and 6-speed AT gearboxes.

Expected Launch & Price-
With the new Hilux already showcased in Thailand, the new Fortuner still has some time before it is unveiled. We can expect it to be launched by late 2026 or early 2027. Considering the current Fortuner’s pricing and addition of the modern features, the Fortuner facelift can be priced between Rs 43 lakh and Rs 64 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
Rivals-
The Fortuner has been out-selling its rivals for a long time now. And with the Fortuner Facelift, it will take on rivals, including the larger MG Majestor, Volkswagen Tayron, and Skoda Kodiaq. What do you think about this new Fortuner Facelift, and which one would you choose?
