New-Gen Mahindra Scorpio – Design 

Mahindra debuted its Vision S concept – possibly to be added in the Scorpio family. The model will be underpinned by the new NU_IQ platform. 

Talking about its exterior, the SUV gets a traditional boxy design silhouette. On the front, the SUV flaunts the twin peak logo on the grille, inverted L-shaped headlights, vertically stacked LEDs on the grille, and pixel-shaped fog lamps . The bumper houses radar and parking sensors. 

On its side, the SUV gives a vibe of Defender being equipped with a stepladder and a jerry can on the right. Other highlights include 19-inch wheels, cameras instead of traditional rear view mirrors, side steps, flush door handles. 

The rear of the model gets inverted L-shaped tail lamps like the front, along with quadra pixel lights on the bumper. It also gets a spare wheel mounted on the tailgate.

Interior & Feature

Moving on the inside, the new model will boast a lot of changes. The concept showcases the SUV with a new steering wheel, digital driver display with fresh graphics, infotainment with new UI UX, dual tone upholstery, panoramic glass roof, grab handles for rear passengers, and more in its package. Other features expected to make its way on the model include – ventilated seats, good sound system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone AC, ambient lights, wireless phone charging and more in its package.

The interiors too look spacious, expect it to offer good legroom and head room for rear passengers. 

Now, the model is also expected to be safe too. Expect it to boast several advanced safety suites including Level 2+ ADAS, 6-airbags, 520-degree camera and a lot more. Also expect its built to be made with majority of high tensile steel to offer a good protection.

Powertrain

The new platform supports petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric powertrains along with FWD and AWD configs. But until now the brand has not shared any details specifying the powertrain details of this SUV. We expect the SUV to continue with the same powertrain from the current model. It comes with a 2-litre turbo petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. The SUV could also get a hybrid powertrain. Note that, things are just in speculation stages at present, more information about the powertrain will be shared by the brand as we near its launch.

Launch

While Mahindra showcased its 4 upcoming SUVs, the first to enter production is the Vision S. The model is said to enter production by 2027. That said, it will be the first among the pack to debut Mahindra’s new platform.
