MG Windsor New Version – What Is It?

MG has now launched its best-selling car and EV, Windsor, with a new Commute version. Unlike the regular model, the Commute version will be targeted at cab fleet operators. This version of the model is based on the Excite base variant and is priced Rs 50,000 lower than the regular base variant. The model is also offered with a BaaS option, which eventually reduces the financial stress on the fleet car buyers. The MG Windsor commute is priced at Rs 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Even though it is based on the base variant of the model, the Windsor Commute gets LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs and chrome accents, manual flush door handles and ORVMs with integrated turn indicators. However, it gets steel wheels without covers. The commute variant gets a unique ‘Commute’ badging to differentiate itself from the other variants.

The MG Windsor Commute EV has a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, manual AC, power windows, manually adjustable ORVMs, Type-A and Type-C USB ports at the front, and a Type-C USB port at the rear. The feature list is kept limited as it will be serving as a taxi in the Indian market. Even though the feature list is cut short, comfort hasn’t been compromised; the commute variant offers rear-seat recline.
Safety functions include only two airbags, instead of the six airbags offered in the regular model. Other safety features include hill hold assist, all-4 disc brakes, and TPMS.
