Honda CB1000 Hornet SP Recalled Again in India

Honda is recalling certain units of the CB1000 Hornet SP in India once again due to the issues persisting with the oil consumption levels in the engine

Honda 2-Wheelers India has issued a voluntary recall campaign for the CB1000 Hornet SP in the country. The company stated that the recalled units are manufactured between 30 September 2024 and 22 August 2025. The Japanese brand has identified a couple of technical issues in the superbike and hence, a recall is announced for the CB1000 Hornet SP owners in India. As part of its precautionary measures, Honda will undertake inspection and necessary corrective action at its authorized BigWing Topline dealerships across the country.

One of the major reasons behind the recall is related to the routing of the fuel feed hose and the company claims that it may require inspection to ensure that it remains properly secured under specific conditions. Honda officially confirmed that this voluntary recall programme will include rectification of the fuel feed hose routing free of cost.

Another technical issue cited by Honda for recalling certain units of the CB1000 Hornet SP is the oil consumption levels in the engine, which could vary due to the characteristics of some components, and may need appropriate action to maintain optimal engine performance. The Japanese two-wheeler brand stated that replacement of affected engine components, if required, will be carried out free of cost, irrespective of the warranty status of the motorcycle.

Honda BigWing Topline dealers will directly reach out to the customers via call, e-mail, or SMS to visit an authorized dealership from today. To avoid any inconvenience or waiting at the dealership, customers are advised to book their service appointment in advance as per availability. The customers may also check if their vehicle falls under this campaign by submitting their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on Honda’s official website in India.

This is the second incident of such a recall exercise for the CB1000 Hornet SP in India. Earlier this year in January, Honda had announced to recall certain units of the superbike manufactured between the same dates (30 September 2024 to 22 August 2025) due to uncommon oil levels. Therefore, it appears that despite the previous recall Honda was unable to fully rectfiy the issues related with the oil levels.

At that time, the company said that oil consumption may vary in a few units due to certain part‑related conditions. Therefore, if oil levels are not checked regularly, changes in oil pressure may affect normal engine operation. Hence, the owners of this supersports bike are recommended to visit their nearest BigWing Topline dealership for a vehicle inspection.
