Mahindra Vision S-

We first saw the Vision S in 2025, when Mahindra showcased its next-generation SUV to the world. Back then, it was just a prototype, but now, in 2026, we have already seen its test mule out and about. And here from those here is what we can expect in the upcoming Mahindra Vision S-

Looks-

On the outside, we can see that the sub-4-meter SUV’s silhouette is much closer to the Thar 3-door. Complementing the Boxy theme are the inverted L-shaped headlamps and taillamps. In addition to the SUV character, there is chunky body cladding and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. For the modern touch, Mahindra has also introduced flush door handles. What about the interiors?

Interiors & Features-

Inside the cabin, this Mahindra is expected to feature a whole new cabin; from what we have seen, the concept. Along with the new dashboard layout featuring modern design elements, Vision S is also expected to feature a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, ventilated and powered seats, wireless charging, and driver assistance features such as a 360-degree camera and ADAS Level-2. What else?

Powertrain-

Powertrain is gonna be the most interesting part of the Vision S. Why is that so? The new NU_IQ platform, on which the Vision S will be based, supports petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrains, as well as AWD. Which means this SUV is expected to be offered with all the above powertrains. We can expect it to get the same 1.5-litre turbo-diesel (115 bhp & 300 Nm) as the 3XO. Expectedly, it will also be offered with petrol options. The petrol options may include Mahindra’s 1.2-litre turbo-petrol (110 bhp & 200 Nm) and another 1.2-litre turbo-petrol (129 bhp and 230 Nm). We expect the Vision S to offer a 6-speed AT, 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT.

Rivals-

Rivals to the Mahindra Vision S would include other sub-4-meter boxy SUVs, including the Maruti Suzuki Jimny, Force Gurkha, and Mahindra’s own 3-door Thar. We expect the Vision S to be different from its competition, primarily in its powertrain offerings.

Expected Launch & Pricing-

Mahindra has already mentioned that we can expect the SUV based on the NU_IQ platform by 2027, and test mule sightings suggest it could arrive by mid-2027. Pricing for the Vision is a mystery, given the various powertrain options the automaker can choose from. Yet, based on what we know it has to offer, we can expect it to be priced between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 18 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
