New Rs 17 Lakh Japanese 7-Seater SUV Coming!

The Japanese automaker Nissan is currently betting on its new 5-seater SUV, the Tekton. Alongside the Tekton, the brand is also planning to launch a new 7-seater SUV based on its 5-seater SUV. Now the Nissan Tekton-based 7-seater SUV is expected to be priced between Rs 17 lakh and Rs 26 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), and here’s everything you need to know about the SUV –

Nissan Tekton 7-Seater – What’s New?

The Nissan Tekton-based 7-seater will be heavily derived from the 5-seater SUV in terms of styling and features. The Tekton is likened to the ‘mini Patrol’ SUV in India, and the 7-seater won’t shy away from a similar look. The main differentiator will be length, as the 7-seater will be longer than the 5-seater to accommodate third-row seating.

The brand might tease the 7-seater model after the launch of Tekton, which will provide us with much information, including styling cues, features, and powertrain options. Nissan had only the X-trail in its lineup, a 7-seater, but due to its pricing and feature list, the SUV didn’t perform well for the brand. That said, the Japanese automaker will try to sort things out with this new 7-seater SUV.

Interiors

The model is yet to be spotted, which will reveal several of its details. However, till then, we expect the 7-seater SUV not to compromise on the feature list. This Nissan 7-seater is expected to get features including a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, auto AC with rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, 6-airbags, ADAS suite, and more. 

More details about the interiors are expected to come out as we near its launch.

Powertrain

The powertrain details are currently under wraps; however, we can expect it to get the same setup as on its sibling SUVs, the Tekton and Duster. It includes a 1-litre turbo petrol (102bhp & 160Nm), a 1.3-litre turbo petrol (160bhp & 280Nm) and a 1.8-litre petrol hybrid engine (163bhp & 172Nm).

Pricing & Launch

The new Nissan 7-seater is expected to launch by mid-2027, after the Tekton makes its space in India. To make the deal sweeter, the Tekton-based 7-seater is expected to be priced more competitively. We expect the model to be priced between Rs 17 lakh and Rs 26 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
