Hyundai is celebrating its 30th birthday in India, and over the years, so many things have changed. From the tall-boy Santro to India’s best-selling mid-size SUV, Creta, Hyundai has come a long way. Back in the day, Santro introduced Indian buyers to a more modern hatchback experience. And the same is being carried forward with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios today. With rivals becoming more feature-packed and refreshed designs, the same could be observed with the upcoming Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Facelift. Here is what you can expect-
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Facelift-

Grand i10 Nios is one of the most affordable Hyundais you can get. The rise of SUVs has significantly damaged the hatchback segment, and on top of that, the Grand i10 Nios has to compete in the Maruti-dominated segment. Considering all of this, the hatchback hasn’t been performing extremely well for the brand. And to fix this, the automaker could bring updates. What all could be changed?

Looks-

With its 2023 facelift, the Grand i10 has undergone major design changes. That said, the upcoming facelift is expected to retain the current generation’s overall silhouette. There is a chance that the i10 Nios facelift might borrow some design elements from its international cousins, including the Bayon and the updated Verna. The new design could feature a sharper look, with a larger grille, a refreshed bumper for a sportier look, and a sleeker LED projector headlamp setup. And to complete the refreshed design, this hatchback could also get a new set of alloy wheels. What else could be changed?
Interiors & Features-

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is also known for its minimalistic cabin. And could continue with the upcoming facelift as well. The current generation of Grand i10 Nios features an 8-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and the facelift could further enhance the cabin experience with a fully digital instrument cluster and updated UI/UX for the infotainment screen. Other features include automatic climate control, push-button start, cruise control and more. While the safety of the Grand i10 Nios hasn’t been the best, it could be improved by making a 6-airbag setup standard; higher variants also get TPMS. What about the powertrain?
Powertrain-

Under the hood, the Grand i10 Nios is expected to remain unchanged, featuring the 1.2-litre NA petrol engine. This engine produces about 82bhp and 113.8Nm torque in its pure petrol variant. Whereas the same engine, along with the factory-fitted CNG kit, produced about 68bhp and 95.2Nm torque. The gearbox options include a 5-speed manual and an AMT. We know that competitors like Tiago are offered in various powertrain options, including an EV. Hyundai might be working on an electric powertrain for the near future as well.
Rivals-
Once launched in the Indian market, the Grand i10 Nios facelift’s major rivals will be the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Tata Tiago. However, with the offering and the price tag, this facelift also has to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and its own SUV sibling, the Exter. The major advantage of the Hyundai is the premium feel it offers when compared to Marutis, and this could go even further with the facelift.
Expected Launch & Pricing-
There is no official word on the launch of the updated Grand i10, but given that other Hyundais are getting midlife facelifts, we can expect this one to launch by late 2026 or early 2027. Currently, the Grand i10 Nios is priced at Rs 6.55 lakh and Rs 9.45 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), and these prices could go up by Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000.
