Mini-Duster Key Details Revealed!

The mini-Duster or the Bridge concept was unveiled some time ago. Renault revealed that it would support all three: HEV, EV, and ICE powertrains. But now we have gotten some in-depth information about it.
Renault has announced that the Bridger EV (production name yet to be confirmed) will mark its entry into the Indian EV market. Moreover, the EV will also be offered with a conventional petrol engine. Now, you would expect that in a car shorter than 4m, it would use the same engine as the Kiger, but you would be wrong. Renault is introducing an all-new engine – a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol for the Bridger.

Renault Bridger – What Else?

The Bridger is expected to be based on the new CMFB platform, which supports hatchback, SUV and MPV body types. It can support cars from 3,990mm to 4,673 mm. The Bridger will fit the sub-4m bracket while also complying with this platform.
But what stands out with this platform is that it offers 4WD compatibility. This means that it will take the Mahindra Thar head-on. The Bridger will be a true off-roader thanks to the traditional 4WD drivetrain. Additionally, even the electric powertrain is compatible with E-4WD. Renault means serious business with this platform. Furthermore, the platform supports hybrid, ICE, EV and CNG platforms, giving customers the option to choose among power, fuel efficiency and running costs.

Renault Bridger – Expected Pricing & Launch

Renault smashed the ball out of the park with the Duster’s pricing, and the same is expected with the Bridger. We could see it being priced between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 18 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The EV would be priced slightly higher between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 24 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
The confirmation that we have at the moment is that the Bridger will be launched before 2030. But we will definitely see it on Indian roads earlier than that. Speculation suggests that its launch is scheduled for mid to late 2027. Renault has revealed many key details about its future ambitions, and you would need to read some of our other articles to stay up to date.
