Kia Syros EV Launch Confirmed?

Kia has kept the game safe with VFM status, and the same is expected for the Syros EV. The brand has confirmed that the EV version of the Syros is coming out this July. The vehicle is expected to be rich in terms of tech and comfort. It shares the same silhouette as the ICE version of the Syros, and it is speculated that the EV could be based on the inster EV. The EV is set to distinguish itself with a futuristic design criterion, including a closed-off grille and aerodynamically optimised alloys.
Inside the cabin, the vehicle will keep its feature-loaded title. As per reports, the car would feature a dual-screen setup for infotainment and instrumentation. Ventilated seats are expected as of the ICE, and a comprehensive 360-degree camera system would be provided. Sunroof and ambient lighting are optional, which gives the vehicle a premium feel. For safety, ADAS Level 2 would be kept for the top trims, and 6 airbags would be standard on the ICE variant. Moreover, let’s expect the vehicle to be safe and reliable, as the ICE Syros got a 5-star rating from Bharat NCAP, confirming its status as a top-tier safe vehicle.

Under the hood, the Syros EV is expected to borrow the underpinnings from the Hyundai Inster. platform. Reports suggest it will be equipped with a 42kWh battery pack, paired with an electric motor capable of delivering 133 bhp and 255 Nm of torque. The vehicle is expected to support fast charging, with a 10-80% charge in approximately 58 minutes, and to offer a claimed range of 390km (42kWh). The setup would aim to provide a perfect balance between city manoeuvrability and good highway range. So the Syros can be a versatile family SUV, for that matter.

Kia Syros EV Launch – What Else?

The Syros EV would arrive in July, creating strong competition in the sub-compact SUV segment. The Syros would lock horns with the Tata Nexon EV and the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV.
The ICE version of the Syros has faced challenges in the sales charts. Kia is making the big move to go electric to catch its redemption. The estimated price would be around Rs. 14 Lakh to 20 lakh, and the Syros EV could be a good move by Kia to keep pace with the growing EV segment in India.
