Suzuki To Launch 350cc Bike!

Toshihiro Suzuki, president of Suzuki Motor Corporation, and general manager for motorcycle marketing and planning, Akira Kyuji, were interviewed by MCN at the EICMA 2025. In this interview, Akira Kyuji said that the 350cc to 500cc segment has become quite popular, with a slew of different brands launching bikes into that segment. These segments have especially grown in Asia and Europe. When asked about Suzuki’s interest in this segment, Akira Kyuji said, “Of course, for manufacturers like us, we need to go for that. If there is customer demand, we should go for that.” But how will Suzuki enter this segment?
Well, Suzuki currently has a 398cc single-cylinder engine (37.5bhp) which is available in DR-Z4S trailie and DR-Z4SM supermoto bikes. This engine also complies with Euro5+ norms. If Suzuki were able to bring the engine capacity down to 350cc, this engine could work out well for their 350cc bike plans. “The demand for 350 to 500cc motorcycles is getting more and more popular now, but not only in Europe,” said Akira Kyui. The GM also stated that the growing demand for this segment can also be seen in markets like China. In Britain, the 126cc to 500cc segment has grown significantly, with more buyers leaning towards small and user-friendly bikes. Brands like KTM, Royal Enfield and Triumph have been quite successful in the segment in Europe and Asia. So, will Suzuki really launch their own 350cc bike?

What Else?

Well, the general manager has not confirmed anything. However, Suzuki could launch a 350cc-400cc bike in the next few years. As of now, Suzuki only has bikes in the 150cc-250cc segment in India. Suzuki also has many bikes in the higher capacity segments like the Hayabusa, GSX-8R, and the V-Strom 800DE. So, the brand may try to explore the mid-segment with a new 350cc-400cc bike that could compete with Royal Enfield, Triumph, Bajaj and KTM, which are the key players in that segment. It will be interesting to see Suzuki’s approach and the final product for the segment.
