Upcoming KTM 350 Adventure – What To Expect? » MotorOctane

Bajaj has confirmed to downsize the 399cc engine to fit in the 350cc bikes GST segment. This move will see new entrants from the bigger pile to the 350cc’s and in the mix will be the detuned version of KTM ADV 390. Here’s everything we expect from the KTM 350 ADV –

KTM 350 ADV – What’s New?

The new GST structure has made the KTM 390 ADV’s prices astoundingly high. At present, the KTM ADV 390 S is carrying a price tag of Rs 5 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). While it already has the 250cc ADV in the market – the recently launched TVS RTX 300 appeals to be more value for money with a powerful engine and more features.

To have an edge in the market, Bajaj is planning to downsize the performance-centric 399cc engine from the KTM 390 models to a new 350cc mill. This further will help the brand to get the benefits from the new GST structure. So, what’s expected on the new KTM 350 ADV?

The New Segment Killer

KTM’s are known for their enthralling performance engines – and the same is expected to continue with this new segment. Downsizing the current 399cc engine to a new 350cc one, will see some loss in power and torque. We expect the 350cc mill to produce around 40bhp and 36Nm.

Secondly, The 350cc model is expected to look-alike the KTM 390 ADV series. It might carry the set of electronics from its bigger sibling. Expect the features like cruise control, switchable ABS, traction control, riding modes on offer. Switchable suspension might not be included in the package – but it will carry the same suspension setup. The better package of features will help the brand drive some sales numbers.

The ADV 350 is likely to see no competition, as this segment is filled with classic bikes. So, it will be having the first mover advantage – and should not let go of it.

Launch & Pricing

The brand has not yet disclosed any timeline suggesting the launch of KTM ADV 350. But we expect it to be revealed in the coming year. Pricing-wise, we expect the KTM ADV 350 to be priced between Rs 3.2 lakh and 3.6 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). With this pricing, it can fill the gap between the KTM 250 ADV and KTM 390 ADV X in the brand’s portfolio.
