Government To Ban Luxury Cars – Why?

In the high-end cars, the first preference for the government is considered to be the luxury cars. Why? The luxury cars are majorly owned by a smaller number of people, and phasing out them first will not hamper the common man of the society. The ban doesn’t only consider diesel cars– but also petrol ones. Along with that, the court also cited that there are bigger EVs available in the market – which can act as a perfect replacement.

Having said that, in the coming time, the court has suggested the authorities to look into possibilities of phasing out the petrol and diesel luxury cars, as there are alternatives available. The court also ruled out the problem of lack of charging infra by saying that once there are enough EVs on the road, charging stations will also be increased.
Even though the ban is slated for luxury cars at first – it also has hampered the mass-market car buyers. With the government and supreme court going pro with EVs, what will be the future of ICE cars in India?

Future Of ICE Cars?

At present, the official authorities are looking forward to banning high-end ICE vehicles. There’s not any official information available if the mass-market cars will be too included in the list in the coming time. The court has also suggested that, while phasing out the luxury cars – the authorities must take care that the sentiments of common man should not be hindered, as this change might be stressful for them.
Having said that, at present we don’t have any official information over the phasing out of mass-market petrol/diesel cars.
