Upcoming Yamaha Bikes –
The Japanese two-wheeler maker has planned to launch 10 new motorcycles including EVs by the end of 2026. Out of these 10 motorcycles, four have already been revealed – XSR 155, FZ Rave, EC 06 and Aerox E. While the remaining 6 motorcycles are still under wraps.

Now, in the upcoming 6 motorcycles, it seems Yamaha might try to bring the FZ-25 back to life. The motorcycle was available on sale a few years back. And not even kidding, it was one of the most reliable 250cc motorcycles out there. But why FZ-25? During the presentation, the brand revealed a plan for showcasing new entrants in the FZ family. While the motorcycle was not fully revealed, the teased silhouette hints towards a possible launch of 250cc FZ. However, an official confirmation is yet to come from the brand.

Yamaha is currently focussing on upgrading its 155cc lineup. At present, Yamaha has a sports faired bike, naked sports, and a scrambler which can be converted into cafe-racer, and a maxi-scooter in this segment. Now, there’s nothing more for the brand to explore in this segment and can move into a new one. That said, they already have a 250cc engine tech, and can again focus on that.
New Yamaha FZ-25

The FZ nameplate has worked well for the brand. It has been a volume puller till now. The brand is even capsizing on this nameplate as recently it launched the new and most affordable model in the FZ lineup. And now it’s time to move out of the box.
The brand can bring the FZ-25 model to the country. The motorcycle was always known for its reliable engine, fuel efficiency and low maintenance needs. To make the 250cc segment effective this time, the brand might make a slight change in the tunings, expect the model to make more power and torque, which earlier was 20bhp and 20Nm. This tuning is required as other competitors have a minimum of 23-25bhp. Moreover, we also expect Yamaha to give it a 6-speed gearbox, instead of the old 5-speed unit.

Design-wise, the model might carry the FZ DNA, or it might bring back the motorcycle in its old design. It was a good looking motorcycle, wasn’t it? Moreover, it could get more tech features – No! Don’t expect the cruise control, ABS switches and others on the motorcycle. This motorcycle majorly caters every-day commuting needs, and such features make no sense. While, we expect it to get the display from MT-15 which gets enabled with bluetooth support.
Talking about the price – the model being in the FZ family, will likely be priced at an accessible price-point. We expect it to be priced between Rs 1.9 lakh and Rs 2.1 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
