That’s right! Yamaha has finally launched the XSR155 in India at an introductory price tag of Rs 1.79 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai). While it shares most of the components with the Yamaha MT15, the design elements of the bike set it apart from the streetfighter. Adding to the retro design, you get a round LED headlight and taillight, a flat single-piece seat with a ribbed design, a tear-drop shaped fuel tank and much more. To add to the character, has also offered two accessory packages: a Cafe racer and a Scrambler. The Cafe Racer accessory pack adds a headlight cowl, a cafe-racer-inspired seat, and adjustable levers. On the other hand, the Scrambler package brings in a headlight cover, a radiator guard, tank knee grips, bar end mirrors, adjustable levers, a unique seat cover, and a few more. But what else does it have to offer?

To match the retro design, the XSR155 gets a unique circular LCD display. The bike gets a slew of features like a traction control system, USD forks, dual-channel ABS, and much more. Powering the XSR155 is the same 155cc engine we see in the R15 and MT15, producing 18.1bhp and 14.2Nm of torque along with a 6-speed gearbox. However, it might perform slightly better than the MT15, as it weighs 4kgs less than the MT15, at 137 kgs. It will be interesting to see how the XSR155 feels on city streets and on the highway. By the pricing and the retro design, it is safe to say that the XSR155 will compete with the likes of the Royal Hunter 350.
