Honda CB300R Discontinued – Capable Bike Gone

The Honda CB300R was not performing well in terms of sales for the brand, since its launch. However, from the last few months the motorcycle was not able to find a single customer. Now, our dealer sources suggest that Honda has silently discontinued the motorcycle some months ago. This happens as the bike has been de-listed from the official website.
From some time, Honda Big Wing dealerships were offering several discount offers on the motorcycle. It seems that the brand was pushing the remaining stock of it. But still, on the charts not even a single unit of CB300R was sold. The bike was priced at around Rs 2.57 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). While some dealerships suggest, Honda might launch the bike with a facelift again in India, but the official statement is yet awaited.

Is It Honda’s Loss?

Honda’s BigWing has been totally focusing on selling the H’ness and 350 models. Honda alone is not at fault here, we Indians too are too choosy, and in that scenario we ignore some capable motorcycles. Many people are just skipping the 300cc segment and directly jumping on 350 RE’s or 400cc models for touring and later cry for high maintenance costs.
The CB300R was a rider friendly motorcycle, and could even train the first time buyers. A very nimble product that you won’t feel stressed driving in traffic. While on the highways, it could even cruise easily at 100-110kmph speed. Now, we surely don’t know yet which showrooms have the left-over stock of this motorcycle. So, if someone really wants to buy it, they could get it at a good discounted amount, but be careful to check the model as the unit wouldn’t be new.
