1. Renault Triber CNG – Upcoming CNG Cars


The Renault Triber is already one of India’s most loved budget MPVs, offering 7 seats in a compact footprint. Now it will get a factory-fitted CNG upgrade with a dual-cylinder setup under the floor on the new Renault Group Entry Platform (RGEP), so you don’t lose your boot space either.
It gets a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 71bhp and 96Nm of torque, paired with a five-speed manual or AMT transmission. Mileage is expected to be 23-25 km/kg on CNG, and the price is expected to be around Rs 8 lakh to Rs 10.5 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

2. Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG – Upcoming CNG Cars


Brezza is one of the highest-selling compact SUVs in India, trusted by millions for its reliability, service network, and Maruti’s brand name. But now it is expected to come with an underbody CNG option, just like the Victoris, to make it even more practical.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza is expected to get a 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine producing around 87 bhp and 121 Nm, with Maruti’s S-CNG (factory-fitted, dual-cylinder). The facelifted Brezza could also come with a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, based on the Z-series platform. With an expected mileage of 25.51 km/kg on CNG, it is expected to be priced around Rs 9.68 lakh and Rs 15.42 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

3. Hyundai Bayon CNG – Upcoming CNG Cars


The Bayon is Hyundai’s upcoming crossover SUV, set to sit between the Venue and Creta. It is already a well-liked vehicle in Europe, and Hyundai plans to introduce it to India with a sporty, aggressive look and CNG as a fuel option.
Bayon is expected to come with the current i20’s 1.2-litre NA petrol engine, utilising Hyundai’s hy-CNG twin-cylinder technology, offering impressive boot space and expected to deliver mileage of 22-24 km/kg on CNG. It is expected to be priced around Rs 11 lakh to Rs 20 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

4. Renault Duster CNG – Upcoming CNG Cars


CNG is being widely discussed as a future addition, given how important the fuel-efficiency story is for the mid-size SUV buyer in India.
Renault Duster is expected to get a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing around 99bhp and 160Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox in the CNG option. We expect the mileage to be around 20 kmpl, and the price to start around Rs 13 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

5. Nissan Tekton CNG – Upcoming CNG Cars


The Nissan Tekton is a brand-new SUV built on the same platform as the Renault Duster and brings Nissan’s rugged SUV styling to the affordable segment. CNG is expected to be among its fuel options for the Indian market.
Nissan Tekton is expected to get a similar powertrain to the Renault Duster, due to their shared platform: a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing around 99bhp and 160Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox in the CNG option. However, we expect it to deliver around 20 km/kg of mileage, with an expected starting price of Rs 12.5 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

6. Skoda Kylaq CNG – Upcoming CNG Cars


Now, Skoda is reportedly working on a CNG version of the Kylaq to rival the Tata Nexon CNG and the Maruti Brezza CNG.
Skoda Auto India is actively developing a factory-fitted CNG option for the Kylaq, with the same 1.0-litre TSI engine producing 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed manual transmission. As for mileage, the CNG variant is expected to deliver around 18-20 km/kg. The CNG version could start at around Rs 10 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
