Maruti claims that the Celerio has the best fuel economy figures in India. And with the facelift, we could see these numbers improve further. We suspect that Maruti could introduce the new Z-series 1.2-litre engine with the facelift. This engine is also used in the Swift and Dzire and has become popular for its fuel efficiency. We could expect even better figures with the Celerio. Transmission options could include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. Moreover, it will also be offered with a CNG alternative. We can expect a claimed mileage of around 27-28kmpl.

The outgoing model costs between Rs 5.58 lakh and Rs 7.91 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). With the facelift, we could see a price hike of around Rs 10,000-Rs 15,000. We expect the facelift to launch in mid- to late-2027. The facelift promises big gains in mileage, so it is definitely one of the cars you should wait for.
