At present, Mahindra has the XUV3XO and 3-door Thar that sits under the sub-4m segment, however, the sales units are average. Apart from that, other ICE SUVs from this Indian manufacturer, sits above 4.3-metres length. Now to increase the market share, Mahindra has finally unveiled a new plan, and it is the new platform ‘NU_IQ’. Based on this platform, we will witness several new SUVs launching in the coming years!

Talking about this new platform, the NU_IQ architecture is compatible with several powertrain options along with AWD capabilities. Moreover, the architecture supports the vehicle length ranging between 3.9-metres to 4.3-metres. This shows how the brand is targeting the mid-size and compact SUV segment more.

Vision S – Expected to be included in the Scorpio family, a mini rugged SUV that will sit below the Scorpio Classic in the brand’s lineup. The SUV features a rugged stance, the side will look more or less like a Defender from the side. Being a mini Scorpio, this model will rival the likes of Creta, with an overall length not exceeding 4.3-metre mark.

Being a more modern-day SUV, it is expected to boast an enthralling feature list including a big infotainment screen, Level 2+ ADAS, ventilated front and rear seats and more in its package. It might share its powertrain with the 3-door Thar, but a new Hybrid option too can be on the cards. This model is said to hit production from 2027, and to be the first to debut with the new platform.

Vision T – ‘T’ denotes Thar, and again Mahindra will be launching a new Thar model. Now the model showcased can be the upgrade of its 3-door model or even be the EV, there are many expectations. But, what’s confirmed is it will retain its off-road capabilities!

If it is an ICE version, the powertrain options can be carried from the current 3-door model. While, if it becomes an EV, it could be introduced with a dual-motor setup for ascertaining AWD setup, something that we found missing on the current Mahindra BEVs.

Vision X – While the Vision ‘S’ and Vision ‘T’ boast a more off-road, rugged design, the Vision ‘X’ resembles a more classy design. The model is expected to be placed under the sub-4m category, even expected to be the new-generation upgrade of the XUV 3XO. But, time will tell what it is all about.

Mahindra might eye to offer a good list of features with this SUV, just to make it stand out from its competitors. Also, its launch will be done sometime after 2027, by then the majority of SUVs in its segment will boast some crazy feature list. Under the hood, expect it to carry the powertrain setup from the XUV3XO, and even a new hybrid option could make its way to this model.

Vision SXT – The ‘SXT’ is different from all of the above. While the others are perfect SUVs, the SXT resembles a pickup-like design. Its design language is kept rugged, obviously Mahindra had to, to make it a perfect bolstering pick-up option. The model will be positioned alongside the Vision S and Vision T, so expect it to boast a length between 4.1metres to 4.3metres.

All around, Mahindra will be targeting to increase its market share with this SUVs, starting off from 2027. However, the Indian automaker will keep running the current set of SUVs, offering facelifts and new-generation upgrades.
