Well, the first and obvious option is the XUV700 facelift. Mahindra will likely be launching the facelift early next year. With the facelift, the XUV700 will likely get a bunch of additional features and tech updates. Spy shots have revealed that the facelift will likely bring in a triple screen setup, borrowed from the XEV 9e. Other expected features include a powered tailgate, a 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Mahindra logo, ventilated seats in the middle row, an auto-dimming IRVM, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system and much more.

We expect Mahindra to also upgrade the ADAS to Level 2+, like on the BEVs, for better safety. Apart from that, the rest of the XUV700 will remain the same except for a few cosmetic changes on the outside. These include a new headlight design, a new grille, revised front and rear bumpers, a new alloy wheel design and a few more. Mahindra will likely offer the same engine options (2.0-litre turbo petrol & 2.2-litre diesel). We expect the facelift to carry a price tag ranging from Rs 16.80 Lakh to Rs 31.65 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Mahindra XEV 9S

Following the success of its BEVs, Mahindra is all set to launch its first 7-seater eSUV on November 27. The XEV 9S is essentially based on Mahindra’s INGLO platform; however, it has a similar body to the popular XUV700. From the multiple teasers, it is evident that the XEV 9S will likely borrow the rear taillights from the XUV700. However, the front design is quite similar to the XEV 9e. Features in the new eSUV include a triple screen setup, a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, Level 2+ ADAS, intelligent adaptive suspension, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, auto park, and the list goes on.

Powertrain-wise, we expect the XEV 9S to borrow the two battery pack options (59kWh & 79kWh) from the Mahindra BEVs. However, we do expect the 7-seater to get the option of AWD, with a dual motor setup. Mahindra may price the XEV 9S between Rs 23.50 Lakh and Rs 34 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Mahindra Scorpio N – Mahindra 7-Seater SUV

The XUV700 is a premium SUV with a more modern and elegant design. However, for those who want a more rugged and purposeful design, the Scorpio N is a great option for you. A traditional body-on-frame chassis, off-road capabilities and a robust build make up the Scorpio N. Plus, you really don’t compromise on performance because the Scorpio N and the XUV700 get the same powertrain options (2.0-litre turbo petrol & 2.2-litre diesel). However, the Scorpio N may not feel as premium and feature-rich as the XUV700. The Scorpio N does get all the essential features like an 8-inch touchscreen, a powered driver seat, Level 2 ADAS, an electric sunroof and much more. Priced between Rs 15.86 Lakh to Rs 29.49 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai), the Scorpio N is also slightly cheaper than the XUV700.

So which of these SUVs would you choose over the existing XUV700?
