We constantly hear about Delhi pollution norms getting stricter. But the recent discussions are serious; they suggest that your brand-new car could also be on the Delhi government’s phase-out radar in the coming years. What’s happening in Delhi? Why should you be worried about it? Let’s discuss –
Why Should It Matter To You?

What’s Happening In Delhi?

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) is discussing long-term plans to phase out petrol and diesel vehicles in the Delhi NCR region. In this discussion, they are planning to phase out any vehicle rated under the BS-3 norms. Not just that, they are also planning to phase out the BS-4 vehicles in the next 5 years. Well, if you thought your recently bought BS-6 vehicle was safe to stay, let us tell you it’s not. Not to discourage you, but your BS-6 is safe for at least the next 10-15 years, but CAQM has plans to discontinue these vehicles in the next 10 years.
Is It Necessary?
Concerns about pollution and global warming are rising sharply, not just in our country but worldwide. Phasing out and banning the ICE vehicle has its own pros and cons. The major pro is cleaner air, but the downside is the financial burden on those who want to keep their old cars. These might be enthusiasts, cab drivers, or even common people who have memories of their vehicles. This is not about banning the old; it’s just how smoothly India will adapt to greener mobility without hurting anyone’s pocket or sentiments.
