Hackers can hack this system in three different ways: relay or replay attack, and signal interception. In this method, unlocking can be done by introducing specialised devices in between the signals, or by trapping the signal for later use. For this method to succeed, the smart keys must be within a specific range. The chances of your car being stolen when you’re around may be lower than when you’re not. CAN Bus & Internal Network Attacks:

Once the ECU access is obtained, the hacker can unlock the car by simply instructing “unlock door” command using the codes.
