New Fortuner Rival Launching Tomorrow!

The current Volkswagen SUV lineup is pretty slim, with only the Taigun and the Tiguan R-Line on sale at the moment. But now, the German manufacturer is all set to launch its flagship 7-seater SUV – the Tayron R-Line.
The Tayron has already been unveiled already but the pricing and launch details are still a mystery. This mystery will finally be solved as Volkswagen will announce all these details tomorrow, on the 19th of February. It will be interesting to see how aggressively Volkswagen price it, since it is going up against the mighty Fortuner.
Unlike the Tiguan, which was a CBU import, the Tayron is manufactured in India. This means that it would be priced aggressively, and we expect it have a price tag of around Rs 50 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

New VW 7-Seater SUV – Design

We already have a thorough idea of what the Tayron R-Line looks like. At first glance, you might mistake it for the outgoing Tiguan R-Line. But after a closer look, you can see it sports a more muscular front end and a longer side profile. It is a 4.8-metre-long SUV, which also translates into a spacious cabin and a practical boot.
Step inside, and you will need a magnifying glass to differentiate it from the Tiguan. The only big difference comes at the back, where you get an extra row of seating. Overall, the cabin is well thought-out, like most German cars. But the only niggle of the Tayron’s interior is that the climate control buttons are integrated into the infotainment screen.
