Up To Rs 2 Lakh Off!

The City is arguably India’s favourite sedan of all time. But the rise in SUVs has caused a big hit on its sales figures. The sales stooped as low as just 500 units in January. Honda is trying to boost these numbers by offering benefits of up to Rs 1.97 lakh on the e:HEV and Rs 1.56 lakh on the non-hybrid version. Keep in mind that these discounts may vary by dealership and stock availability.
Before discounts, the City is priced between Rs 14.24 lakh and Rs 19.04 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai), while the City e:HEV costs Rs 23.65 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). This seems like a pretty steep price to pay, as you can find SUVs that offer more features, stronger powertrain options and better practicality at the same cost. Honda aims to sell the e:HEV on the basis of fuel efficiency, but even the Toyota Hrydyer, Maruti Suzuki Victoris and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara offer similar fuel economy figures at lower prices.

And with these discounts, Honda will try to get on par with the SUVs and hope the City nameplate still has a strong pull. The poor sales may not depict it, but the City still offers great value for money. It may not boast the road presence of an SUV, but it still brings some sophistication, practicality, and a roomy cabin to make up for it.
Furthermore, if you compare it to sedans like the Slavia and Virtus, the comparison becomes fairer. The City may lack the performance of the other two, but it edges them out with better efficiency figures and lower maintenance costs at a similar price.
