Key Highlights:

The Jupiter CNG is based on the full petrol Jupiter 125. Jupiter gets a practical design with LED headlights and taillights, plus some chrome inserts. TVS will offer 14 colour options, including a few dual-tones, just like the full petrol Jupiter 125. Jupiter 125 is known for its space and practicality, but the CNG variation will come with certain compromises. The 33L under-seat storage is utilised to accommodate the CNG tank; technically, there is no under-seat storage. The CNG filler valve will be located under the seat. To access it, you need to get out of your seat. Just like a regular Jupiter, the CNG will feature a 2-litre open-type glove box on one side. On the other side, the fuel lid of the auxiliary fuel tank.
The variants offered will remain the same, with four to choose from. Jupiter SmartXonnect is the most tech-loaded, with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and additional features for added convenience.

Powertrain:

Jupiter CNG will also share the 124.8 cc engine with the Jupiter 125. Changes are made to the same engine to run on both CNG and Petrol. The petrol powertrain produces 8.1 HP and 10.2 Nm of torque. Jupiter in CNG mode delivers 7.2 HP and 9.4 Nm of torque. At the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, TVS claimed the Jupiter CNG’s mileage is 84 km/kg, and its top speed is 80 km/hr. The underseat CNG tank holds 1.4 kg of CNG and also features a 2L auxiliary fuel tank. The combined range of the petrol and CNG will be 226km.
Rivals:
Jupiter CNG will be the first CNG scooter. There is no direct competitor to the Jupiter with CNG offering in the segment. But there are traditional scooters that will compete with the Jupiter CNG, including Honda Activa, Suzuki Access 125, Hero Destini 125. It will also have to compete with electric rivals like TVS iQube, Orbiter, and Ather Rizta. Electric scooters are close rivals to the Jupiter CNG because they have lower running costs than petrol ones.

Expected Launch and Price:
After unveiling the Jupiter CNG at Bharat Mobility Expo in 2025, TVS is expected to launch it by early 2026. The current generation of the Jupiter 125 is priced between 99,400 and 1,12,000 (on-road Mumbai). The CNG Jupiter is expected to be priced between 95,000 and 1,15,000 (on-road Mumbai), with a minor price difference.
Even though the CNG Jupiter will miss the underseat storage, will you still consider it for its fuel efficiency?
