Tata isn’t just limited to affordable cars; it is also responsible for some high-end luxury cars from Jaguar and Land Rover. While Land Rover remains a popular name, its sibling, Jaguar, does not share the same fate. But you can take advantage of this and get some of its luxury cars on a tight budget. 

Usually, when you think of affordable luxury SUVs, you would expect it to be some high-mileage 25-year-old one, but not in this instance. We have found this 2017 Jaguar F-Pace First-Edition variant with all the features you could possibly want for Rs 23.5 lakh. And as for the icing on the top, it gets a powerful V6!

Looks & Practicality

Despite being a 9-year old car, the design hasn’t aged a bit. Arguably, it looks better than some of the German SUVs currently on sale. Thanks to the dual-exhaust tips and elegant alloys, the overall design is an attractive mixture of sophistication and sportiness. It gets the best of both worlds without looking over-the-top. 

It is a 4.7 m-long SUV, making it longer than the 7-seater Skoda Kodiaq. You can see the reward of this space inside the cabin, with spacious interiors and a sufficient 508-litre boot. Furthermore, the quality of materials throughout the cabin is top-notch, reminding you that you are driving a car that once cost Rs 1.1 Crore.

These figures are more than twice that of the Sierra. To make things even sweeter, it gets an 8-speed AT (with paddle shifters) along with an AWD drivetrain. All in all, it is a driver’s delight.

Luxury SUV On a Budget – What’s The Catch?

Power, luxury, practicality and looks, it has it all. But don’t jump on the hype train just yet. JLR vehicles are notorious for their reliability, and this purchase would be a high-risk, high-reward gamble. To minimise the odds of it calling the service centre its home, you should have it checked by your trusted mechanic before buying it. This unit may cause you no issues or a million issues, and it depends entirely on the inspection. 

Even if the car doesn’t break down as often, the maintenance costs are usually ginormous. One trip to the service centre and you wouldn’t even notice before you spend Rs 50,000. Scheduled service checks won’t be a cheap affair, especially if you get it checked at authorised service centres. As a safety measure before buying it, be prepared to spend Rs 4 to 5 lakh on service and maintenance alone. 

Despite these potential red flags, if you still fancy this deal, go for it. The F-Pace is a driver’s delight, and it gets all the luxuries you could possibly want to please your family. And as the saying goes, luck favours the bold.
