But you can benefit from its popularity by choosing its rivals over the Fortuner. Some of its rivals are getting whopping discounts of up to Rs 5 Lakh, and here is what you should know about it.

Skoda Kodiaq 

The Skoda Kodiaq is one of the most premium SUVs in its segment. You get sophisticated looks, European build quality, a long list of features and the practicality of a 7-seater all at once. Unfortunately, these things weren’t enough to dethrone the Fortuner. Sales have been low, so Skoda is offering massive discounts of up to Rs 5 lakh on it. This discount includes a cash discount, an exchange bonus, and a corporate or loyalty discount. 

Skoda’s flagship SUV offers a decent feature list, including powered front seats with ventilation and massaging, a panoramic sunroof, a 12.9-inch infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, etc. A 2.0-litre TSI (202bhp & 320Nm) powers the Kodiaq, and there are no other engine choices available. The same applies to the gearbox and drivetrain options, as you get a 7-speed DSG and AWD as standard. 

Before discounts, the Kodiaq is priced between Rs. 47.81 lakh and Rs 55.49 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai). It is important to note that the discounts are applicable for MY2025 units, and you get a lower Rs 1 Lakh discount for 2026 models.

Fortuner Rival Discounts – Jeep Meridian

Many people may have already forgotten about the Meridian, but it remains a great, cheaper alternative to the Fortuner. Jeep is offering a discount of up to Rs 3.25 lakh on this 7-seater SUV. This deal includes consumer discounts, corporate discounts and a special bonus. 

The Meridian is feature-loaded and comes with equipment such as powered front seats with ventilated seats, level-2 ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, a powered tailgate, a 10.2-inch digital driver’s display, a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, etc. Powertrain options include a 2.0-litre diesel (168 bhp & 350 Nm), which is mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed AT. You can also opt for a 4WD drivetrain. 

Unfortunately, there is a big catch. This offer is only applicable to MY2024 units. The Meridian hasn’t received major updates since 2024, and you wouldn’t miss out on much if you opt for an older unit. The Meridian is priced between Rs 28.65 lakh and Rs 46.02 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). And after these discounts, you could get a Fortuner rival for the price of an XUV7XO.

Fortuner Rival Discounts – MG Gloster

With the arrival of the Majestor, it was expected that the Gloster would be offered at big discounts to clear up stock. MG is offering benefits worth Rs 4 lakh on the Gloster. These discounts are relatively fair to attain, as the deal only includes cash discounts and an exchange bonus.

Except for a few additional features and bigger dimensions, the Gloster is identical underneath. It comes with a long list of features, including Level-2 ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, an electric tailgate, a 12.3-inch infotainment display, powered front seats with ventilation and massage functions, etc. 

As for the engine options, you can choose a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel (158bhp & 374Nm) or a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel (213bhp & 478Nm). You get an 8-speed AT as standard. Moreover, like a true SUV, it is available with 4WD. 

The Gloster is currently priced at Rs 46.50 lakh and Rs 53.13 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai). And when you account for such massive discounts, the deal becomes enticing. Additionally, this offer applies to all 2026 model-year units.
