Updated Creta Rival Spotted! » MotorOctane

The last few months in the mid-size SUV segment have been really busy, with the launch of the Tata Sierra and the unveiling of the Renault Duster. And we have another SUV in the same segment being spotted while testing. Here is everything you need to know about this upcoming SUV:

New Creta Rival Spotted:

After the launch of the Tayron R Line, we have another VW on the way. Supporting that, we have seen sightings of the Taigun facelift being tested under camouflage. Volkswagen looks all set to give the Taigun a much-needed update. Here is what we can expect from it:

Exteriors:

From the camouflaged Taigun, we can derive that the SUV still retain the same body shape. As this is gonna be a facelift, changes are expected to the front and rear bumpers. We can also expect some revisions to the front grille. At the rear, the tail lamps and bumpers are to get some refresh design too. We can see that the side profile remains largely unchanged.

Interiors:

Inside the cabin, we can expect major changes, like the addition of some new features. We can expect the facelifted Taigun to come equipped with updates such as a new infotainment screen and a panoramic sunroof, and VW can also enable the massaging seat function, as seen in the Kushaq facelift.

Powertrain:

Under the hood, Taigun is expected to feature the same 1.0-litre (114 bhp, 178Nm) and 1.5-litre (148 bhp, 250Nm) turbo-petrol engines. Paired with the 6-speed manual and AT transmission. There is also the 7-speed DSG option with the 1.5-litre engine.

Launch & Pricing:

There is no official discussion about the launch of the Taigun Facelift, but it is expected by the end of 2026. The pricing will be slightly higher than Taigun’s current price. Taigun Facelift can be priced between Rs 14 lakh and 23 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). What do you think about this update? Will it come any closer to the hype of the Hyundai Creta?
