Upcoming Hyundai SUV

The brand is yet to reveal all the models that will be launched in India. But, we have been told that the Korean automaker will be launching a new model that will be slotted below the Venue in its lineup and will be competing with the Maruti Fronx. The model is none other than the Bayon. Just like the Fronx, the Bayon is a crossover having a jacked up profile.

Now for someone, who craves for good design – the Bayon looks like an i20 on steroids. The slight muscularity helps to differentiate it from the hatch. So, the Bayon looks like a handsome-looking SUV, considering the design of Fronx. Well that was just about the exteriors, now let’s dive into what we get to see on the inside.

Interior

The Bayon is currently on sale in the international markets, and offers an array of features in its pack. We expect the same suite of features to be carried to India. So the features expected to be included are a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a wireless charging pad, 64-colour ambient lighting, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a sunroof and much more. We even expect the model to be equipped with the ADAS suite for added safety.

Powertrain

In the international markets, the Bayon features a 1.0-litre engine. But for India, the sources suggest it will feature a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, alongside the 1.0-litre engine. Later in the time, the Korean automaker might also think of offering a hybrid option with the 1.2-litre mill. But that still has some time left, as it won’t be done during or just after the launch of this model. Moreover, we also expect a CNG powertrain to be offered with this model – this will help the brand to eat a good pie of sales from those of Maruti Fronx.

Launch & Price

The brand is yet to reveal the launch timeline of this SUV. According to us, we expect the model to be launched by the second half of 2026. Regarding the pricing, expect the Hyundai Bayon to cost anywhere between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 12 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
