4X4 SUV Gets Stuck In Snow!

In a video posted on Instagram by manali_packages, a camouflaged SUV can be seen stranded on the snowy patch. From the video, it is unclear whether the SUV was actually involved in an off-road test or simply slipped off the road. However, reports suggest that the SUV lost traction and got stuck in the snow on the side of the road. The Himachal Pradesh police came to the rescue. Using a Maruti Gypsy, the police towed the test mule onto the road. Thanks to the police, the car was safely returned to the road. We believe that the SUV was none other than the upcoming Creta rival, the Renault Duster. But why?

Why Renault Duster?

The overall silhouette and a few design elements, such as the boxy design, roof-mounted spoilers, roof rails, flush door handles, and muscular stance, are quite familiar to the new Duster. As you can see in the above image, the car stuck in the snow bears a close resemblance to the Duster at the bottom. But did it really fail in the off-road test? Well, no, it did not technically fail. Mechanically, the new Duster in the international markets offers AWD, just like its predecessor, which was sold in India. But we don’t know if the test mule was an AWD variant.

Renault has already revealed that it will be launching the Duster on Republic Day, 2026. While the features are yet to be revealed, the Duster is on sale in other international markets. We can expect similar features to be offered in the India-spec model. Features include a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a powered driver seat, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a Level 2 ADAS suite and much more. The SUV may get 3 engine options: a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine. We expect Renault to price the Duster between Rs 14 Lakh and Rs 23 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
